REPORT
on the
SANITARY CONDITION OF ST. MARY, ISLINGTON,
FOR APRIL, 1868.
No. CXXXII.
The mean corrected mortality for April during the past ten years
is 336. In the April just passed the registered deaths, 305, have not
reached this number by 31. Respiratory diseases alone (consumption
excepted) have produced any unusual mortality. There has been some
increase during the month in the cases of small-pox and whooping
cough. I have been endeavouring to meet the former, so far as my
means permit, by communicating with the District Vaccinators, and by
carbolic acid disinfections.
EDWARD BALLARD, M.D.,
Medical Officer of Health.
