REPORT
of the
SANITARY CONDITION OF ST. MARY, ISLINGTON,
FOR NOVEMBER, 1867.
No. CXXVII.
The mortality of the Parish has continued throughout November to be
below the average. Three hundred and nine deaths were registered—
the mean corrected mortality of November daring the last ten years
being 339.
Scarlet fever has been prevailing a good deal during the month, but
not to such an extent as in October. The number of deaths, however,
have risen from 13 to 25 (as registered), but this is because deaths are
not always registered immediately they occur, and they refer to persons
many of whom were taken ill in the previous month.
The small number of deaths, viz.: 26, referred to diseases of the
nervous system is worthy of remark.
EDWARD BALLARD, M.D.,
Medical Officer of Health.
Vestry Offices,
December 2nd, 1867.
