The most remarkable number in the mortuary table is that of 42
deaths from chronic heart diseases, most of which happened to persons
between forty and eighty years of age. Diseases of the organs of
respiration also carried off 97 persons.
The deaths of young persons under 20 years of age have been
remarkably few : they usually constitute half, or more than half of all
the deaths registered.
