20. At the annual licencing in October, there were 103 applications for Slaughter
houses. These places were all visited by the Inspectors, and such as it was necessary I
should see, by myself. Their cleanliness and other arrangements being satisfactory,
only one application was refused on the ground of non-compliance with the requirements
of the act of Parliament and the demands of the Justices.
