with that of former years. During the past month, 868 new cases were
admitted under treatment by the Parochial Surgeons, of which 152 were
instances of diseases of the zymotic class. It is a favourable omen that, notwithstanding
the high mortality from scarlet fever, only 25 new cases wer e
attended by these gentlemen, against 50 in the month of September. There
have been 14 cases of fever, mostly of the typhoid or abdominal type, and 14
cases of erysipelas.
