MARRIAGES.
Marriages, 2788 ; Marriage Rate, 16.4—The number of persons
married was 5,570, as contrasted with 5,744 in the preceding year, which is a
decrease of 68. The marrige rate was 16.4 per thousand inhabitants, as compared with 17.0 in 1924.

BIRTHS.
There were 6.580 births registered, of which 3,397 were boys, and 3,183 girls.
Of this number, however, 1,118 were born of mothers living in Islington, although
they were confined in Lying-in Institutions, and in other homes situated outside
the Borough. The annual birth rate was equal to 19.4 per 1,000 of the population, as compared with a mean birth rate of 21.3 in the preceding ten years.
