REPORT OF THE MEDICAL OFFICER OF HEALTH TO THE MINISTRY
OF HEALTH UNDER THE PUBLIC HEALTH (MILK AND CREAM)
REGULATIONS, 1912 and 1917.
During the past year (1925), samples of Milk, Cream and Preserved Cream
have been obtained to ascertain the extent to which the provisions of the Regulations
are being carried out by the vendors.
(1) Milk and Cream NOT Sold as Preserved Cream :
Milk.

to ascertain if the statement on the label as to preservative

(c) Instances where (apart from analysis) the requirements as to
labelling or declaration of preserved cream have not been

been complied with, and action taken (see p. 59).
Note.—A further 61 informal samples were purchased of cream, of these
38 had the orthodox preservatives label, or were pure cream.
Taking account of these 61 informal samples, and referring to the official
samples, it will be seen that 91 creams were taken. Of these 91 creams, 30 were
submitted for analysis; two of which were pure cream.
