Notices Served.—There were 3,686 intimation notices served by the
inspectors with respect to nuisances, of which 3,521 were delivered personally
and 165 by post. In 427 instances it became necessary, as the intimations had
not been attended to, to report to the Public Health Committee, who ordered
statutory notices to be served, of which 131 were delivered personally and 296
by registered letter post.
