The erection of houses for the working classes on the site of this area was
begun in 1906 and was completed in October, 1908.

Francis Street, No. 14—18. Site still vacant.
Gate Street, Nos. 22, 23, 24 (Great Northern, Piccadilly and Brompton
Railway). Offices over built.
Grape Street. New premises built.
Great St. Andrew Street, Nos. 43—47. Site still vacant.
Great White Lion Street, Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4. Site still vacant.
Gower Street Nos. 82, 84, 86, and Tavistock Place. New shops and Hats
