There were 403 deaths of "Residents" in various Workhouses, Infirmaries,
Asylums, Hospitals, &c., outside the Borough. Of these, 182 formerly resided in
St. Giles and Bloomsbury, and 221 in the Holborn District.

The average death-rate of the Borough for the preceding decennium was 19.5 per 1,000. The lowest death-rates
in previous years were 16.6 in 1907, 17.0 in 1906, 16.9 in 1905, 17.9 in 1904, and 18.3 in 1903.
