APPENDICITIS.
This disease caused 24 deaths, which is the normal number for the
Borough, although 11 more than were registered in 1912. It is a singular
fact that almost 42 per cent, of the deaths now reported occurred between the
ages of five and twenty, although, strangely enough, during five years of this
period, that is to say between the ages of 10 and 15, none were known, and
that during the preceding ten years the average percentage of deaths between
the same years has been almost identical, namely 37-5.
