DIABETES MELLITUS.
Thirty-five deaths were registered, which is an increase of six on the
return of the" preceding year, and also seven above the average
of the preceding 10 years. The disease is of importance in middle
and later life, for in ten years, between the ages of 35 and 75, it caused an
annual average of 22 deaths, or 78 per cent, of the deaths from it at all ages.
The deaths were equally distributed among the sexes, namely, 18 among
males, and 17 among females.
