OCCUPATIONS OF PERSONS ATTACKED WITH INFECTIOUS
DISEASES.
This return is of an interesting character, because it shows us the many
ways in which infectious diseases might be conveyed to the public if precautions
to prevent their spread were not taken; thus 2 makers of boxes were
attacked, and recollecting that these card-board boxes are used for the packing
of hosiery or other similar goods, one can understand how easily infection
can be conveyed from a patient to the public. It is not necessary to discuss
each of these items separately, but any person who interests himself in this
subject will find in Table XCVIII. a list of the occupations of the patients who
suffered from the various diseases that were notified during 1912.
