Of the total number of notifications received (1,282) during the year under
the Regulations, 405, or 31.6 per cent., related to the transfer of patients from
one institution to another. Thus from Holborn Workhouse, Shepherdess
Walk, which is without this borough, 281 cases were transferred to Holborn
Infirmary within this borough; 106 cases were transferred from the Islington
Workhouse to the Islington Infirmary, both within this borough; and 18 cases
were transferred from the Cornwallis Road Workhouse to the Islington
Infirmary both within this borough.
As in previous years, there was some difficulty in dealing with the notifications
owing to the duplication of certificates respecting the same individual.
Altogether notifications on four sets of forms were received from the
various officers of the Poor Law Guardians.

Public Health (Tuberculosis in Hospitals) Regulations, 1911.
—During the year 611 notifications were received under these Regulations.
Public Health (Tuberculosis) Regulations, 1911.— The Public
Health (Tuberculosis) Regulations, 1911, came into force on the 1st January,
1912, and under them the medical practitioners of the Borough notified 611
cases of Pulmonary Tuberculosis.
