Sub-Registration Districts.—The incidence of the notifiable infectious
diseases in the several sub-registration districts varied from 5.03 per 1,000 of
the inhabitants in Lower Holloway to 4.16 in Barnsbury. It is rather a
remarkable fact that this sub-registration district, which is so crowded, should
exhibit so low an attack rate. Usually the incidence of these diseases is
heavier there than in other parts of the borough.

Seasonal Attacks.— These diseases as the year advanced greatly
increased. Thus in the first quarter 319 cases were notified; in the second,
335; in the third, 422; and in the fourth, 501.
