times given to my reports and advice, I cannot, however, avoid a feeling of regret
that in a comparatively short time this Committee will be dissolved, and that
a new one will take its place just at a time when its members had commenced
to understand, and fully appreciate, the high importance of public health work,
which is often of a most intricate, detailed, and very delicate character, This
is one of the penalties of triennial elections,
I would also thank my colleagues in the Public Health Department,
especially Mr, J, R, Leggatt, the Chief Sanitary Inspector and Superintendent,
and Mr, Geo, H, King, the Chief Clerk, for the manner in which each has
discharged the duties devolving on him, which at times were of a burdensome

clerk to the Public Health Committee, I am also much indebted for valuable
assistance,

Your faithful Servant,
Medical Officer of Health,
