REMOVAL OF DUST.
Thirty applications were received during the year for the removal of
dust, which is 9 above the number recorded last year.
The return is very satisfactory, and demonstrates that the dust collection
in the Borough is efficiently performed by the Horse and Depot Department.

Dust Receptacles Provided.—During the year 384 dust receptacles
were provided, while 9 were repaired after the service of sanitary notices.
INSPECTION AND EXAMINATION OF FOOD AND PLACES
WHERE FOOD IS PREPARED.
Food—Inspection of.—Inspector Wilkinson reports that during the
year he has paid 1,025 visits to the 22 Slaughter Houses now on the register,
and that he has ascertained that 34,145 animals were killed therein, namely:—
855 oxen, 46 calves, and 33,244 sheep and lambs. These were mostly found of
good quality and free from disease.

The food destroyed or otherwise disposed of so as to prevent its use for human food was as follows:—

The total amount of unsound or diseased meat, fish, fruit, and other food
destroyed was 6 ton 13 cwts. 0 qrs. 8 lbs. The diseases which affected animal
