VOLUNTARY MATERNITY AND CHILD WELFARE
CENTRES.
There were three Maternity and Child Welfare Centres at work in the
Borough during the year, North Islington, South Islington and West Islington.
It is to be regretted, however, that the period of their reports does not
coincide with the Calendar year, but with the old Financial year, which should
be abolished since it only causes confusion. It is unfortunate also that their
reports are not framed on similar lines, and, therefore, it is difficult to compare
the work done at each Centre, which, however, is of a very high character
and has caused the utmost satisfaction to the Medical Officer of Health, and
to everyone who has followed their operations. The following statistics have
been abstracted from the reports of each of the Centres:—
