Illegitimate Births (207).—The number of illegitimate births, 207, shows an
increase of 2 on the return of the year 1921. They were equal to a rate of 2.76 per
1,000 registered births. A table for former decennial periods was given in Report 1922.

DEATHS.
The deaths numbered 4,614, while the death-rate was equal to 13.82 per 1,000 of the
population, or 0.70 lower than that of the preceding year (1312), and was 1.55 less than
the average of the previous 10 years.
