MARRIAGES.
Marriages, 2,877; Marriage Rate, 17.23.- The number of persons
married was 5.754. as contrasted with 6.282 in the preceding year, which is a decrease of
264. The marriage rate was 17.23 per thousand inhabitants, as compared with 18.86 in 1921.

BIRTHS.
There were 7,506 births registered, of which 3,788 were boys, and 3,718 girls. Of
this number, however, 886 were born of mothers living in Islington, although they were
confined in Lying-in Institutions, and in other homes situated outside the Borough. The
annual birth rate was equal to 22.47 per 1,000 of the population, as compared with a mean
birth rate of 22 33 in the preceding ten years.
