The Deaths for a similar period in 1859 were 487; and for
10 years' average 431-5; as, however, the present Deaths have
occurred in an increased population, 10 per cent, must be added
to this average, which would make the numbers 474-5. We
are thus enabled to show that there is a decrease in reference to
the previous quarter of 93 Deaths, and in reference to the 10
years' average of 80-5 Deaths.
