Chapel-street, the Magistrate committed the vender to the
House of Correction for seven days.
Twenty-one instances of underground dwellings have been
detected in Rochester-street and Grey Coat-place, and the
parlies have been removed. In one case, No. 21, New Peterstreet,
it was necessary to apply to the Sitting Magistrate, who
made the required Order of Removal.
The subject of overcrowding is in abeyance until the decision
of your Board is obtained as to what steps shall be taken to
remove so great an evil.
