The increase in the Death Rate, as compared with 1858, is
mainly attributable to the large number of Deaths arising from
Diarrhœa occurring in children under 1 year of age; there has
also been a considerable mortality in persons advanced in
years: 68 Deaths having occurred in those above 60 years of
age. The Deaths from Scarlet Fever, Hooping Cough,
Measles and Small Pox have been comparatively small.
The following is a Tabular statement of the Births and
Deaths in each Parish, arranged as to sex:—
