discriminate between those instances where a nuisance arises
and others where no offence can be detected, and it is in
reference to this point I think it necessary to give my opinion.
In the following list of places where pigs are kept, it will be
noticed that in many instances they are permitted to range at
large, in spacious premises, and under such circumstances and
where the number is small, I do not consider them either a
nuisance or injurious to health; but when kept in large numbers,
or in a confined space, or near a dwelling or roadway,
they are exactly the reverse, and if not likely to engender, add
very materially to any existing illness.
The following is a list of places where pigs have been kept,
but are now removed by order of the Nuisances Removal
Committee:—
