On 1st April, 1971, under the provisions of the Local Authority Social Services Act, 1970, the day nurseries
(marked †) and the mental health premises (marked †) were transferred from the Health Department to the Social
Services Department; with the exception of the Special Care Unit at Linnet House (*) and the Junior Training
School (*) which were transferred to the Inner London Education Authority under provisions contained in the
Education (Handicapped Children) Act 1970.
