During 1963, a total of 61 applications for loans or grants under the

Rent Act, 1957—Certificates of Disrepair
Three applications for Certificates of Disrepair were received during
1963.
In the case of the first application, the necessary works were carried
out before the service of notice of the Council's intention to issue a
Certificate.
The premises which were the subject of the second application were
not controlled premises, and therefore the provisions of the Rent Act,
1957, relating to the issue of Certificates of Disrepair, did not apply. The
applicant was informed accordingly. Subsequently, it was learnt that the
owners had voluntarily remedied the defects.
On receipt of the Council's notice of intention to issue a Certificate
in respect of the third application, the owner gave an Undertaking on the
20th December, 1963, that he would remedy the defects within six months.
