Prevention of Damage by Pests Act, 1949.

Six licences were issued by the Council during the year in relation to
premises subject to the provisions of this Act.
Rag Flock and other Filling Materials Act, 1951.
Under the provisions of this Act various types of premises concerned
with the upholstery trade or with the provision of materials for that
trade must be registered or licensed with the local authority.
At the end of the year seven premises were on the register and two
premises licensed for storage purposes.

Atmospheric Pollution.
Investigation into the atmospheric pollution in the City was continued
during the year at three sites, Mayfair, Pimlico and Charing Cross, where
deposit gauges, which measure the deposited pollution, and lead peroxide
cylinders, which measure the sulphur activity, are sited.
