Fareham Street Area.
Fareham Street Nos. 6 and This was the subject of a Clearance
7. Order made under Section 26 of the
Housing Act, 1936. A Hearing
before an Inspector of the Ministry
of Housing and Local Government
was held on the 29th November,
1955, and the Minister's decision is
awaited.
{Note.—By letter dated 31st January,
1956, the Minister stated that,
while he considered the houses
specified in the Order to be unfit for
human habitation, he did not consider
that demolition was the most
satisfactory way of dealing with
them and had, therefore, decided not
to confirm the Order.)
Conduit Court Area.
Conduit Court Nos. 1, 2, 3. Formal objection to the confirmation
of a Clearance Order has been lodged
with the Minister, and the objector
has requested an extension of time
to furnish the grounds for such
objection.
(Note.—This Order was confirmed
by the Minister in August, 1956.)
Langley Court Area.
Langley Court Nos. 9, 10, This was the subject of a Clearance
11. Order made under Section 26 of the
Housing Act, 1936, and was confirmed
by the Minister without
modification on the 20th December,
1955.
Demolition of Individual Unfit Houses.
Nos. 12 and 13, Richmond Buildings, W. 1.
On the 21st September, 1955, the Council, in lieu of making demolition
orders under Section 11 of the Housing Act, 1936, accepted an undertaking
from the owner of these two houses that they would not be used
for human habitation until the Council, on being satisfied that they had
been rendered fit for that purpose, cancelled the undertaking.
