As the Infantile Mortality rate for 1945 un.iisu.ally high, a careful
analaysis was made of the individual deaths. .It vr.s fouunl that certain
factors arising from the central position of Westminister in London had the
effect of raising the rate, 'as compared with that in many other districts.
Although these factors continue to apply, the rate Cor 1946 is considerably
lower than that for the previous year,
