Non-notified Deaths.—The number of unnotified deaths during the
year was 17; the corresponding percentage proportions are 24.4 per
cent. (1936) and 18.0 per cent. (1937). Enquiries were made, but in
no instance did there appear to be neglect to notify a case on the part
of a medical practitioner. 13 deaths occurred in institutions and 4 at
home.
Public Health (Prevention of Tuberculosis) Regulations, 1925.
The object of these regulations is to prevent anyone who is aware that
he is suffering from an infectious form of tuberculosis from engaging in
certain departments of the milk trade. There was no occasion for
exercising the powers conferred by these regulations during 1937.
