Provision of New Houses for the Working Classes.
Ebury Bridge Housing Estate Extension Scheme.—The third block
(Cheylesmore House) of 74 flats was opened early in the year, thus completing
180 flats out of 280 in the whole scheme.
Rehousing Operations.—During the year 145 families were rehoused
by the City Council and 138 by the London County Council, making a
total of 283 families removed from unsatisfactory dwellings. The estates
on which these families were accommodated were as follows:—
