Of the 183 cases removed from the register during the year 1936,
91 were on account of death, 87 persons suffering from tuberculosis
moved from the City and notification was withdrawn in 5 cases.
The total number of cases of tuberculosis on the Register at the end
of 1936 was 1,515 (as compared with 1,474 at the end of the year 1935),
of which 1,169 were pulmonary cases, consisting of 788 males and 381
females.
Deaths from Tuberculosis.—The total number of deaths from tuberculosis
for 1936 (all forms) was 90—males 56, females 34. This gives a
death-rate for this disease of 0-72 per 1,000.
