1,450 deaths were registered in the City during 1934. After
deducting 971 deaths of non-citizens in public institutions, etc., in
the City, and adding those of 987 citizens who died in other districts,
the corrected total is 1,466 as compared with 1,573 in 1933, and is
equivalent to an annual crude rate of 11.8 per 1,000 persons compared
with 12.4 last year.
The London death-rate for 1934 was 11.9 and for England and
Wales, 11.8.
