Special Classes of Premises and Occupations subject to control
by the Local Authority.
(1) Common Lodging Houses.—Six in number (detailed on page 27).
They are at present controlled and supervised by the L.C.C., but as
mentioned elsewhere in this report, it is intended to transfer these
powers to the City Council by Order under the Local Government Act,
1929.
(2) Slaughter Houses.—There are none in the City.
(3) Offensive Trades.—There are none such registered in the City.
(4) Cowsheds.—There are none in the City.
(5) Houses Let in Tenements.—The number of houses on the register
at the end of the year was 412. The Sanitary Inspectors paid 1,728 visits
of inspection to these houses and infringements of the by-laws were
reported in a number of instances,
