All the above foods when exposed for Sale, either wholesale or retail,
if they were imported into this country from any place outside the United
Kingdom must bear an indication of origin.
The following regulations have been made under the Agricultural
Produce (Grading and Marking) Act, 1928, dealing with Home
Produce:—

Under these regulations grades have been made, and goods of these
standards can be marked with a recognised Mark approved by the Ministry
of Agriculture and Fisheries.
This mark is to assist consumers to obtain Home produce of a definite
grade and quality.
The Artificial Cream Act, 1929.
This Act came into force on 1st June, 1929. The title of the
"Reconstituted "Cream Bill was altered in the House of Lords so that
when it received Royal Assent it became the Artificial Cream Act.
The object of the Act is to distinguish clearly between natural cream,
which is the fat from fresh milk, and "artificial" cream, which is made
from dried separated milk powder, unsalted butter and water. These
ingredients, after mixing, are passed through an emulsifying machine.
The Act regulates the conditions of manufacture and sale of this
commodity. Registration of premises is required except—
(1) where it is manufactured by any person solely for his domestic
purposes;
(2) where it is manufactured for use in the preparation of other
articles of food on the same premises;
(3) where it is sold in properly closed and unopened receptacles
as received.
There are strict requirements for labelling all receptacles, &c.,
"Artificial" Cream. Powers of entry to inspect registered premises
