The 16 deaths under 1 year of age were distributed over the quarters
of the year :—

Whooping Cough.—128 cases were notified during the year with
7 deaths—two being under 1 year and 5 between the ages of two and
five. This is an increase on the figures of 1926, when 40 cases, with 2
deaths, were recorded. 27 cases were moved to hospital.
The deaths from whooping cough during the last five years are thus set out:— Table XXVII.
