Deaths,
1,752 deaths were registered in the City in the 52 weeks of 1926.
After deducting 1,009 deaths of non-citizens in public institutions, etc., in
the City, and adding those of 865 citizens who died in other districts,
the corrected total is 1,608, as compared with 1,728 in 1925, and is
equivalent to an annual rate of 11.6 per 1,000 persons (civilian
population).
The London death-rate for 1926 was 11.6 (civilians only), for England
and Wales 11.6. These rates are a little lower than in 1925 as regards
England and Wales and Westminster. The figure is constant for
London. The number of deaths and the death-rates per 1,000 for
the past fifteen years are shown below :—
