The figures in brackets represent those still away at end of year.
* In the case of patients receiving institutional treatment more than once during the
year, the longest period only recorded, except that hospital treatment immediately preceding
sanatorium treatment is recorded together as sanatorium treatment, and convalescent
treatment immediately following hospital treatment is recorded together as hospital
treatment. Sixteen insured persons and thirteen uninsured persons received short additional
periods of Poor Law, hospital, or other treatment. Many Poor Law patients received
treatment in the infirmary two, three, or more times.
† Of the six patients who had less than one month of treatment, three returned of
their own accord, two were sent back as being too ill for treatment, and one died.
