2,784 intimations of nuisances, &c., and 114 statutory notices
(including 8 for smoke nuisances) were issued; 2,314 letters were
written, and 1,932 interviews took place at the Office.

Police court proceedings for failure to comply with Statutory notices were taken with the following results:—

Two persons were summoned one for refusal to admit and the other
for obstructing the Sanitary Inspector at 17, Pulford Street, the former
