The number of persons notified voluntarily has decreased as the
system of compulsory notification has been extended. With the
beginning of 1913, all forms of tuberculosis became notifiable, consequently
the voluntary system, which has been in existence for twelve
years, will be entirely superseded.
The total number of new cases of pulmonary tuberculosis notified in each of the last four years was:—
