Food and Market Inspections.
The markets and places where food is sold have been inspected
every day (including Sundays), and the vigilance displayed by the
Inspectors in previous years has been maintained. The following list
shows the quantity of food condemned and destroyed as unfit for
food during the year. The bulk of it was submitted by the owners
or purchasers for the opinion of your Officers, and in the present state
of the law further proceedings could not be taken, although in some
instances it would appear to be desirable:—
