Infant mortality in London was equal to 157 deaths per 1,000 births registered, in
Westminster the rate was 162 per 1,000.
(e) 9 deaths were due to violence—5 of them were ascribed to negligence or
accident—and 4 to suicide. Inquests were held on the bodies of 19 citizens.

3. Notifiable Diseases.—55 cases of Infectious Disease were notified in the City in October, as compared with 66 in the previous five weeks. They were distributed as follows:—
