In conclusion, I can only express my satisfaction in being able to state that, notwithstanding the increased expenditure incurred in carrying out several works not included in my Estimate; also the wages paid to the extra carmen employed, and the keep of the extra horses purchased before the25th March, the work in my department has been carried outwithin the limits of my Estimate, as will be seen by the following figures:—
