Stock of Plant and Materials.
An Inventory of the Plant and Materials has been carefully
taken on 25th March, and the Valuation is estimated
at £12,755 2s. Id., as per Stock Book. The chief items
are:—
38 Water Vans
1 Water Cart
50 Slop Vans
8 Stone Carts
6 Sweeping Machines
54 Horses
1 Derrick
1 Gas Holder and Gas
Testing Apparatus
1 Horse Roller
&c., &c., &c.
Horses.
On the 25th March, 1881, the number of horses in stock
the property of the Vestry was 29. Since then four horses
have been sold by auction, and have realized £98 14s.
Four horses were purchased to replenish the stock at a cost
of £310 15s., and 25 were purchased, at a cost of £1,863,
to meet the increased work (viz., watering and cleansing)
in the In-Wards.
The number of horses in stock, therefore, at the end of
the past year (Lady-day 1882) was 54, the value of which
I estimate at £3,742 17s.
Stable Arrangements.
The cost incurred, under this heading, in the maintenance
of the Parish Plant, together with the keep of the above
horses, including all labour and expenses, for the year ended
Lady-day 1882, has been £8,380 4s. 11c?., viz.:—
