The cost of maintaining the steam roller, including all expenses of every description, has been as follows :—

The total area of streets rolled has been about 413,812
superficial yards, a portion of which has been done by hired
rollers. The cost of hiring during the year has been
£33 14s.
Wood Pavement.
In addition to the various works allowed for in my
estimate for the year, the Vestry, at its meeting hold on the
23rd January, 1879, decided to pave with wood the roadways
of Bond Street (from Piccadilly to Oxford Street)
and the portion of St. James's Street under the jurisdiction
of the Parish; subsequently, the Vestry also decided to
pave portions of the roadways of George Street, Maddox
Street, and Mill Street, around St. George's Church;
also a portion of Stafford Street, from Albemarle Street to
Bond Street. The total cost of these works amounted to
