The total area of streets rolled has been about 265,900
superficial yards, some of which has been done by hired
rollers. The cost of hiring during the year has been
£257 145. 6d.
Wood Pavement.
Piccadilly.
The portion of wood pavement laid down in Piccadilly
by the Improved Wood Pavement Company, in 1873,
between St. James's Street and Berkeley Street, has been
taken up and relaid by the Company, at their own request
and expense.
The remaining portion of the pavement in Piccadilly is
in very good condition throughout.
