REPORT UPON ARTICLES ANALYSED
DURING THE YEAR 1898,
made to the
Pestry of Saint James's, Westminster,
by
JAMES EDMUNDS, M.D., M.R.C.P.Lond., F.C.S., &c.,
Medical Officer of Health and Public Analyst.
Mr. Chairman and Gentlemen,
During the year 1898, under the provisions of the
Sale of Food and Drugs Acts, 82 samples were examined,
all which were procured for examination by the Vestry
Officers.
In none of these samples was any poisonous ingredient
discovered.
Among the samples submitted for examination, there
were:—
Milks 37
Cocoas 10
Coffees 9
Mustards 8
Peppers 6
Arrowroots 5
Butters. 4
Vinegars 3
82
Nothing, except the stipend paid by the Vestry, has
been received by me in connection with these analyses.
The results of the analyses are shown in the following
Table:—
