employed by the Sanitary Department, and the instructions given
by the M.O.H. in reference thereto. The Sub-Committee submitted
their report to the Public Health Committee on the 27th November,
1896, and the Committee then prepared and presented to the Vestry
a report, which will be found at page 35 of the appendix to the

The M.O.H. submitted to the Vestry a special report in reply
on the 15th December, and a special meeting of the Yestry was held
on Wednesday, 16th December, to consider the matter. The
following resolution was then adopted, and a copy was directed to be
forwarded to the Local Government Board:—
Besolved:—That this Vestry having heard the Medical

the Public Health Committee Beport of December 1st,
regrets to observe that he has not dealt with the points
therein raised.

to the Yestry for the due discharge of duty by the
subordinate officials. That the doctor be required to
observe scrupulously the undertaking which he signed

requirements of the Sanitary Officers' (London) Order,
1891, and especially to keep books according to Article
18, Clause 14, in the before-mentioned Order, and
That the Health Committee be instructed to make effectual
the recommendations contained in their report of
December 1st.
Dr. Waldo submitted to the Vestry a supplementary report,
with an appendix on the 12th January, 1897, when he was instructed
to submit this report to a Special Committee then appointed to
consider and report on the same. The Special Committee presented
an exhaustive report to the Vestry on Dr. Waldo's Supplementary
Beport of the 9th February, 1897, when the resolution on page 58 of
the M.O.H.'s Annual Beport was adopted and forwarded to the Local
Government Board. The Board's reply will be found in the report.
