The table which I shall present to you, points out the localities in which deaths from
zymotic diseases have happened, and in of importance. Where we find the greatest
numbers of zymotic diseases, there we shall find the greatest amount of crime, immorality,
ness, poverty, and premature death. There is nothing strange in litis; there is merely
cause and sequence. Breathe a contaminated air, and you breathe disease and its results.
The atmosphere is purest on the mountain tops; most impure in our alleys and courts.
