Annual Report of the Medical Officer of Health—1867—8.
The second Table will show at a glance the number of deaths that occurred weekly,
and in what sub-districts, with the average of temperature. The lowest death rate in the
year 1866-7 happened in the 37th week, ending 15th September, when the number was 17;
and the highest, in the 39th week, when 45 deaths were registered. The highest death
rate of the year now under consideration was 41, which occurred in the week ending 25th
January; and the lowest in the weeks ending 11th May, 22nd June, and 21st March, when
the number in each was 16.

The third Table exhibits the number of deaths that happened in each sub-district. In
these the rate of mortality varies considerably. In the Kent Road sub-district 21 have
died in 1000 persons living ; whilst in the Borough Road sub-district 30 have died in 1000
persons living; and in the London Road sub-district, 23.
